The Lunar Effect or sometimes called, The Transylvanian Effect, is something that while may seem like a foreign concept to many people is actually spoken of in many homes, though mainly as a joke. The Lunar Effect is essentially the belief that certain positions and cycles of the moon have and will affect the minds of not only animals, but also the human species. Examples of this occurring are such as when dogs continually bark during the evening of a full moon, or when a normally docile and calm cat starts hissing at the pet owners when, again, the moon is full and no additional reasoning is found. The full moon itself is the key component in this theory due to the select times that it occurs in the year.
